Obituary of James Lupton, Jr.

James Edward Lupton, Jr., 51 of 123 Macedonia Church Road, Poplar Branch, NC died Sunday, August 29, 2004, at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC. Mr. Lupton was the son of the late James Edward and Mildred Lewark Lupton and the husband of Cathy Simpson Lupton. He was employed with Narrows Island Club and attended the Poplar Branch Baptist Church. Besides his wife, Mr. Lupton is survived by a daughter, Kelly Lupton of Virginia Beach, VA; and one sister, Opal Beasley of Collington, NC. Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, September 2, 2004, at 2:00pm in Laurel Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Poplar Branch, NC by Rev. Bill Thorn. The family will receive friends and relatives at Twiford Funeral Home, 405 E. Church St., Elizabeth City, Wednesday evening from 7:00 until 8:30pm and at other times at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Brown, 6114 Caratoke Highway, Grandy, NC.
