Obituary of Ruth Thomas

Ruth Ann Porter Thomas Native of Townsend, DE Ruth Ann Porter Thomas, age 62, of 1053 Bayview Road, Powells Point, NC, died Wednesday, September 22, 2004, in Albemarle Hospital. She was a native of Townsend, DE, and was the daughter of the late Nathan William Porter, Sr. and Katherine Alberta Lowman Porter Owens. She was the wife of the late Randolph Thomas, Sr. She is survived by two sons, Curtis Roland Thomas of Grandy, NC, and Anthony Wayne Thomas of Jackson, NC; two step sons, Randolph Thomas, Jr. of Anderson, SC, and Don Thomas of Chesapeake, VA; three sisters, Shirley Parker of Chesapeake, VA, Ella Sasnett of Powells Point, NC, and Jane Koontz of Grandy, NC; three grandchildren. A graveside service will be Sunday, September 26, 2004 at 3:00 PM in Powells Point Christian Church Cemetery, with the Rev. David Coxson and the Rev. Ronnie Midgett officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in Twiford’s Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC, and at other times at the residence of her sister, Ella Sasnett, 1053 Bayview Road, Powells Point, NC.
