Obituary of Horace Simpson

Moyock, NC Horace Lawrence Simpson, Sr., age 85 of 278 Baxter Lane, Moyock, NC, died September 26, 2004, in the Outer Banks Hospital, Nags Head, NC. He was a native of Currituck County, NC, and was son of the late George Vanslack Simpson and Mary Alice Smith Simpson. He was the husband of Lottie ‘Peggy’ Bateman Simpson. He worked as an electrician for the Civil Service, and served in the US Coast Guard. He was retired president for the Portsmouth County Anglers Club, and a member of River City Sam’s Campers Club. Besides his wife he is survived by one son, Horace Lawrence Simpson Jr., and his wife Lynette of High Point, NC, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was predeceased by one son, George Simpson, four sisters, and five brothers. A memorial service will be Thursday, September 30, 2004, at 4:00 PM, in Twiford’s Memorial Chapel, 405 E. Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC. The family will receive friends in the lobby of the funeral home immediately following the service. The family requests that memorial donations be made to The Moyock Fire and Rescue Squad, PO Box 81, Moyock, NC 27958. Twiford’s Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
