Obituary of Michael Pooler

Michael A. Pooler, 43, went to be with the Lord Sept. 29, 2004. He was a beloved husband and a dedicated father. Michael served as a yeoman chief in the U.S. Navy and served in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Esther Y. Pooler; daughter, Ashley; son, Michael Jr.; sisters, Faye and Rosene; brothers, Oley and Wayne; a special mother-in-law, Mrs. Willie Mae Gray and father-in-law Charles Gray; three brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law, two aunts, five uncles, five nephews and three nieces and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at Twiford’s Colonial Chapel, 929 S. Battlefield Blvd., from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. A funeral will be held at Calvary Revival Church, 5833 Poplar Hall Drive, Monday at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his name may be made to the Kidney Foundation, 1515 N. Military Hwy., Norfolk.
