Obituary of Mamie Williams
Elizabeth City, NC
Mamie Lilly Williams, 85, went to be with her Lord, on Saturday, October 16, 2004. She was a resident of Virginia Dare Apartments in Elizabeth City, NC. Mrs. Williams was the daughter of the late David and Sally Ann Lilly Lane.
Mrs. Williams was the former owner and operator of Mamie’s Quick Lunch in Elizabeth City, NC; and was a member of the Lynnhaven Baptist Church in Pocomoke City, Maryland.
Survivors include three daughters, Nellie L. Bray and her husband Billy, and Mary Ann L. Seaberg and her husband Bruce both of Elizabeth City, NC; and Helen L. Bunch of Hertford, NC, four sons Roger W. Lane and his wife Faye of Plymouth, NC; J. C. Lane and his wife Sarah and Grant Lane and his wife Ruth both of Elizabeth City, NC; and Thomas Lane and life partner Ralph Pitts of Jacksonville, Florida, one sister Laura Milklos of Canton, Ohio, thirty grandchildren, fifty-seven great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Leslie Alphonso Lane and Steve Williams, two sons; James Leslie Lane and Cecil Ray Lane, two daughters Ruby Ipock and Lessie Mae Lane, and five sisters and three brothers.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2004, at 2:00 P. M. at the Lynnhaven Baptist Church, in Pocomoke City, Maryland with Rev. Kerry Hinton officiating. Burial will follow in the First Baptist Church Cemetery, Old Snow Hill Road, Pocomoke City, Maryland. The family will join friends at the Holloway-Melson Funeral Home, 103 Linden Avenue Pocomoke City, Maryland, Monday, October 18, 2004, from 7:00 P. M. to 9:00 P. M.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be directed to; the Lynnhaven Baptist Church, 1200 Lynnhaven Drive, Pocomoke City, Maryland 21851.
