Obituary of Donald Roberts

ROBERTS RODANTHE, NC DONALD LEONARD ROBERTS, 79, of Rodanthe, died, Thursday, October 14, 2004, in his home. Mr. Roberts was born in Philadelphia, Pa and was retired from the U.S. Navy as a Master Chief Petty Officer serving his country for 30 years. He was a member of the Fairhaven United Methodist Church, N.C. Beach Buggy Association, Chicamacomico Surf Fishing Association and the Cape Hatteras Angler’s Club. He was the son of the late Leonard and Clara Barlow Roberts and the husband of the late Dorothy Kenderdine Roberts, Lillian Eure Roberts and Maggie (Lorraine) Morris Roberts. Surviving are three daughters; Donna Moore of Quakerstown, Pa, Denise Roberts of Limerick, Pa and Dawn Boyles of Philadelphia, Pa, two sons; Donald L. Roberts, Jr of Sellersville, Pa and David W. Roberts of Sandy Utah, three sisters; Florence Lichtenegger of Trevose, Pa, Doris Pfister of Sanford, N.C. and Marion Hall of Doylestown, Pa and 16 grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, October 20, 2004, at 11:00 a.m., in Fairhaven United Methodist Church by the Rev. Susie Fitch-Slater. Burial will be held in Indiantown Gap National Veterans Cemetery in Annville, Pa. Memorials may be made to the Fairhaven United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 129, Avon, N.C. 27915.
