Obituary of Clyde R. Gray

AVON, NC CLYDE RANDOLPH GRAY, 81, of Avon, NC died Friday, October 29, 2004 at his residence. Mr. Gray, born in Avon was retired from the U. S. Coast Guard and was a commercial fisherman. He was the son of the late Willie and Ersie Gray Gray and was also preceded in death by three brothers, Vance Gray, Edwood Gray and Carroll Gray. Mr. Gray is survived by his wife, Ann Meekins Gray of the residence; two sons, Michael Gray and Jimmy Gray, both of Long Island, NY; two sisters, Myrtle Burrus of Virginia Beach, VA and Irma Lange of Nags Head, NC; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at St. John’s United Methodist Church, Avon, NC, on Monday, November 1, 2004 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Suzie Fitch-Slater and Rev. Tim Cooper officiating. Burial will be in the Gray Family Cemetery in Buxton. Friends may join the family at the church on Sunday evening from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm and at other times at the home of Jim and Gail Coleman, 40267 McMullen Road, Avon. Twiford’s Island Chapel, Hatteras is assisting the family with arrangements.
