Obituary of William George Herd

Barco, NC William George Herd, 82, died on Monday, November 8, 2004 at Sentara Nursing Home in Barco. Mr. Herd was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and was an electrical superintendent for Consolidated Edison of New York. He was a protestant and a member of the Duck Woods Country Club. Mr. Herd was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He was the son of the late George P. and Adaline Kilpatrick Herd and the widower of Marie Audrey Trost Herd. Survivors include his brother-in-law and spouse, Robert and Elizabeth Trost, formerly of Southern Shores, now residing in Ashville, NC; two nephews, Robert W. Trost, III of Fredrick, MD and Scott V. Trost of Woodbridge, VA; one niece, Barbara Woodward of Kent, CT. No services are scheduled. Burial of cremated remains will be interred in Southern Shores Cemetery. Twiford Funeral Home, Manteo, is assisting the family with these arrangements.
