Obituary of Georgia Ann Potter
KITTY HAWK, NC
GEORGIA ANN VOLKMAN POTTER, 72, of Kitty Hawk, NC died Wednesday, November 17, 2004 in a Norfolk, VA hospital. Mrs. Potter was born in Hammond, IN and was a retired School Teacher. She was a graduate of National College of Education, Evanston, IL, received a Master’s Degree from Fairfield University of Connecticut, and also attended Iowa Wesleyan College, where she met her husband, Robert S. Potter. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority, the Kitty Hawk United Methodist Church and White Plains Presbyterian Church, White Plains, NY. She was the daughter of the late Elmer and Grace Andersen Volkman.
Mrs. Potter is survived by three daughters, Amy Rapoza and husband, Dan of Kitty Hawk, NC, Jan Letourneau and husband, Alan of Tenants Harbor, ME, and Jill Florez and husband, Rob of St. Augustine, FL; a sister, Judy Hatch and husband, Roger of Mattawan, MI; a brother, Tim Volkman and wife, Beverly of West Lafayette, IN; seven grandchildren, Matthew Rapoza, Seth Rapoza, Daniel Florez, Ashely Florez, Andrew Florez, Kate Letourneau and Carrie Letourneau.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at Twiford’s Colony Chapel, Manteo, on Friday, November 26, 2004 at 12:00 noon. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the charity of one’s choice.
