Obituary of Ruth Meads

Ruth Gregory Meads Chowan County, NC native Mrs. Ruth Gregory Meads, 85, of 495 Meadstown Road, Elizabeth City, NC died Thursday, November 18, 2004, at Winslow Memorial Home. Mrs. Meads was born in Chowan County, NC, the daughter of the late Jordan Gregory and Leah Stallings Gregory, and was the widow of Elton Matthew Meads. She was a member of City Road United Methodist Church and was retired sales person with Belks having worked there for 43 years. Mrs. Meads is survived by one son, Oliver Gregory Meads of Elizabeth City, NC; one sister, Beulah Stallings of Elizabeth City, NC; and her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Gregory. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, November 21, 2004, at 2:00pm at Twiford’s Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Charles McKenzie officiating. Burial will be in the Highland Park Cemetery.
