Obituary of Iva Owens

Wanchese, NC Iva ‘Bill’ Tillett Owens, 89, died Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at her residence. Mrs. Owens was born in Wanchese and was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church and Pocohontas. She was the daughter of the late Woodsey and Arletta Daniels Tillett and the widow of William Anderson Owens. She was also preceded in death by a son, William Conrad Owens. Mrs. Owens is survived by a daughter, Myrna O. Sapone of Wanchese; a sister, Shawnee Brothers also of Wanchese; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held at Bethany United Methodist Church on Monday, December 6, 2004 at 11:30 am, with Rev. Billy Ballance officiating. Burial will be in the Tillett Cemetery, Wanchese. The family will receive friends at the residence. Memorial donations may be made to the Bethany United Methodist Church or the charity of one’s choice. Twiford’s Funeral Home, Manteo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
