Obituary of Andrew F. Sears

Andrew F. Sears, 77, of 118 Windy Heights Dr., Camden, NC died Thursday, December 2, 2004, in the Mt. Vernon Hospital, Alexandria, VA. Mr. Sears was born in Chatham, MA to the late Thomas Basil and Leila May LeJune Sears. He was a retired director for Fire Fighters’ Safety and Health with FEMA, a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and a member of The Pines Golf Club. Mr. Sears was an U. S. Navy veteran. He is survived by his wife, Mary Finigan Sears of Camden, NC; one daughter, Linda Sears Watts and husband, Jimmy Ray, of Kitty Hawk, NC; three sons, David Andrew Sears and wife, Kim, of Poughkeepsie, NY, Richard Michael Sears and wife, Susan, of Alexandria, VA and Mark Thomas Sears of Berlin, Germany. Mr. Sears is also survived by two sisters, Gertrude Barker of Hyde Park, MA and Bertha Piscatelli of Watertown, MA; two brothers, Cletus Sears of Skaneateles, NY and William Sears of Reading, MA. Also, surviving are seven grandchildren, Rebecca Sears, Benjamin Sears, Nicole Watts, Michael Sears, Alexa Sears, Angela Watts, and Christopher Watts. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, December 7, 2004, at 11:00am in the Holy Family Catholic Church by Father James Buchholz. A private burial will be held later. The family will receive friends and relatives at Twiford Funeral Home, 405 E. Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC, Monday evening from 7:00 until 8:30pm and at other times at their residence, 118 Windy Heights Dr., Camden, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts be made to the Holy Family Catholic Church Building Fund, 1453 N. Road St., Elizabeth City, NC 27909.
