Obituary of Clarence “Podner” Rogerson

Clarence Eugene Rogerson, Sr., age 76, of 400 Jessup Street, Elizabeth City, NC, died Tuesday, December 7, 2004, at his residence after a long battle with cancer. He was a native of Pasquotank County, NC, and was son of the late John Rogerson and Kate Elliott Rogerson. He was the husband of his loving wife of 54 years, Mildred Hall Rogerson of the residence. Mr. Rogerson was retired from the Elizabeth Brick Company in 1992 after 53 years of service. He is survived by two daughters, Peggy Cannon and her husband, David of Camden, NC, and Wanda Sanders of Camden, NC; one son, Clarence Eugene Rogerson, Jr., and his wife Doris of Elizabeth City, NC; one sister, Delma Copeland of Elizabeth City, NC; one brother, Johnny Rogerson of Elizabeth City, NC; two grandchildren, Christina Rogerson of Wilson, NC, and Jamie Sanders of Camden, NC; one great grandson, Samuel Craig Sanders of Camden, NC. He was preceded in death by a sister, Katie Rogerson, two brothers, James ‘Pell’ Rogerson and Lee Bright and a son-in-law, Stephen Sanders. A funeral service will be Thursday, December 9, 2004, at 2:00 PM in Twiford’s Memorial Chapel with the Rev. James Melvin Rogerson officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
