Obituary of Albert Ficik

Colington Harbour, NC Albert ‘Al’ John Ficik, 71, died on Friday, December 5, 2003 at an Elizabeth City hospital. Mr. Ficik was born in Bayonne, NJ and was a retired Commercial Electrician. He was a member of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and the Colington Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Ficik was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was the son of the late John and Mary Gnip Ficik and the husband of the late Gwennessa Waibel Ficik. He is survived by two sons; Carl Ficik of Albuquerque, NM and Allan Ficik of Sleepy Hollow, NY; two sisters, Mary Cauwels of Fairlawn, NJ and Helen Rogow of Emerson, NJ; two brothers, John Ficik of Toms River, NJ and Robert Ficik of Colington Harbour, NC; he was preceded in death by one daughter, Chrissie. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2003 at the Colington United Methodist Church at 10:30 AM with the Rev. Robert Pitsch officiating. A reception for the family will be held at the church following the service. The Cremains will be buried in the George Washington Cemetery in Paramus, NJ. The family will be at the home of his brother, Robert Ficik, 234 Roanoke Drive, Kill Devil Hills, NC. Twiford’s Colony Chapel, Manteo, is in charge of these arrangements.
