Obituary of Carroll Robertson

Carroll Robertson, Sr. Henry Carroll Robertson, 69, of 202 South Street, died Wednesday December 8, 2004, at the Albemarle Hospital in Elizabeth City, NC. Mr. Robertson was born February 2, 1935, in Bertie County, NC, and was the son of the late David Hillary Robertson and Amanda Evelyn Powell Robertson. He was a self-employed home improvement contractor, member of the Pasquotank-Providence Volunteer Fire Department, and a former member of the Bee Keeper’s Association. Survivors include his wife, Jane Jones Robertson, two sons Henry Carroll ‘Hank’ Robertson, Jr., of Lillington, NC, and David Keith Robertson of the home, three step-daughters, Lisa G. Austin and her husband Joey of Elizabeth City, NC, Keenen G. Broome and her husband Chris of Lake Gaston, NC and Sheila D. Grizzard of Chicago, IL, one brother Carlton Robertson of Edenton, NC and two sisters Myrtle R. Wynne of Ahoskie, NC and Edna R. Joyner of Franklin, VA, and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Beale Robertson on July 24, 1975, and one sister Margaret R. Parrish and one brother Wilton Robertson. A funeral service will be held Saturday December 11, 2004, at 1:00 P. M. at the Twiford Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Bob Madden officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will join friends Friday evening from 7:00 P. M. to 8:30 P.M. at Twiford Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC. Members of the Pasquotank-Providence Volunteer Fire Department will serve as active and honorary pallbearers.
