Obituary of Ralph Wood

Ralph Edward wood Resident of Elizabeth City, NC Ralph Edward Wood, age 83, of 1376 US 17 South, Elizabeth City, NC, died Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at Albemarle Hospital. He was born in Pasquotank County, son of the late Jesse Edward and Glennie White Wood and was the husband of Eleanor Eure Wood of the residence. He was a member of Mount Herman United Methodist Church, and retired owner/ operator of Wood’s Repair Center. Besides his wife, Mr. Wood is survived by a daughter, Alma Jean Paschal and husband Bill of Chesapeake, VA; two sons, Ralph Edward Wood, Jr. and wife Donna of Waynesboro, VA, and Jesse Eure Wood and wife Rhonda of Elizabeth City, NC; a sister, Elizabeth W. Duncan and husband Ed of Elizabeth City, NC; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Glennie Bell Downer, and four brothers, Gerald, Leslie, Orville, and Waverly Wood. A funeral service will be held Friday, December 12, 2003 at 11:00 am in Twiford’s Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Haywood Gillikin officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 until 8:00 and at other times at the residence.
