Obituary of Pete Parron

Elizabeth City, NC Proctor ‘Pete’ K. Parron, age 80, of 1621 Midgett Drive, Elizabeth City, NC, died Thursday, December 9, 2004 at his residence. He was born in Norfolk, VA; husband of Johnsie Kincaid Parron and the son of the late Walter Charles and Mary Owens Parron. Mr. Parron was a veteran of WWII, having served in the U.S. Army 17th Glider Infantry, where he was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge, the owner and operator of New Home Appliance Corporation, a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, ‘The Rockers’ singing group of the church, and the Rotary Club. Besides his wife, Mr. Parron is survived by a daughter, Sandra Parron Phillips and husband Michael of Chesapeake, VA; a son, Charles K. Parron and wife Carol of Raleigh, NC; a granddaughter, Sarah Kathryn Phillips of Chesapeake, VA; two sisters, Rose Parron Bagwell and husband Ronald of Norfolk, VA, and Charlotte Parron Bachik and husband John of Fort Lauderdale, FL. Besides his parents, Mr. Parron was preceded in death by a sister, Helena Parron English and two brothers, Walter Charles Parron, Jr. and James Albert Parron. A funeral will be held Sunday, December 12, 2004 at 2:00 pm in Twiford’s Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Michael Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in New Hollywood Cemetery with military honors by the U.S. Army. The family will receive friends at the residence.
