Obituary of W.A. “Pig” Foster
Winfred Arthur ‘Pig’ Foster, age 73, of 108 Rosewood Avenue, Elizabeth City, NC, died Sunday, December 12, 2004 at his residence. He was born in the Newland Section of Pasquotank County, NC, to Irene Jones Foster of Elizabeth City, NC, and the late Arthur Linwood Foster, and was the widower of Carolyn Etheridge Foster. Mr. Foster was a barber in Elizabeth City for over 50 years, a member of Grace United Methodist Church, a member and trustee of B.P.O. Elks #856, Improved Order of Red Men Tribe #8, and Loyal Order of the Moose #1847. He was a U. S. Navy veteran.
Besides his mother he is survived by two sons, Winfred A. ‘Wink’ Foster and Stacy Pool Foster, and wife Debbie, all of Elizabeth City; one brother, Garland Foster, and wife Janie, of Pinetops, NC; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his loving companion, Gwen Bray. He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Foster.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 15, 2004, at 2:00 PM in Twiford’s Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives in the lobby of the funeral home Tuesday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 PM and at other times at their residence.
