Obituary of David Markham

David Walter Markham Native of Pasquotank County, NC David Walter Markham, age 58, a lifetime resident of Pasquotank County died Monday, December 13, 2004, at his residence, 612 Esclip Road, Weeksville section of Elizabeth City, NC. He was the husband of Diane Sawyer Markham of the residence and the son of Ida Fletcher Markham of Weeksville and the late Walter Fearing Markham. He was a retired employee of Dominion North Carolina Power with thirty-six years. The last twelve years his position of local service man covered Pasquotank and Camden Counties. He is also survived by two sons, Stephen Allen Markham, and wife Lynn, of Weeksville, NC, and Clifton Glen Markham of South Mills, NC; a sister, Marie M. Harrison, and husband Richard, of Snellville, GA; and two grand- daughters. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Fletcher Markham. A celebration of David’s life will be Wednesday, December 15, 2004, at 5:00 PM at Twiford’s Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends in the lobby of the funeral home following the service and at other times at the residence of his mother, Ida Fletcher Markham, 532 Esclip Road, Elizabeth City, NC. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to David’s Memory to Salem Baptist Church, 1401 Salem Church Road, Elizabeth City, NC 27909.
