Obituary of Johnnie Scott

Johnnie W. Scott, 82, of 1306 West Church Street, Elizabeth City, died Friday, December 12, 2003, in the Barco Sentara Nursing Home. Mr. Scott was born in Pasquotank County to the late Charlie and Sue Bray Scott and was the widower of the late Kathryn Gray Scott. He was a retired maintenance officer for the U. S. Navy, a Pearl Harbor veteran having served aboard the USS California, a member of the Berea Baptist Church, former owner/operator of Kay Jay Foods and a member of the VFW Post #6060. Mr. Scott is survived by one son, Robert ‘Sam’ Scott and wife, Mary of Janesville, Wisconsin, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles ‘Chuck’ Scott and a brother, William E. Scott. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 17, 2003, at 11:00am in Twiford’s Memorial Chapel by Rev. Roger Stanley. Burial will be in the West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
