Obituary of Velma Cartwright

VELMA CARVER CARTWRIGHT, 73 formerly of Strickland Blvd. Virginia Beach, Va. died Friday, December 17, 2004 in Sentara Leigh Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Perquimans County, NC daughter of the late James A. and Mrs. Sally Riddick Carver and the widow of David Elmer ‘Tug’ Cartwright. Mrs. Cartwright had retired as an admitting clerk from Leigh Memorial Hospital. She is survived by: two daughters Andrea C. Ball of Currituck, NC, and, Linda G. Ocheltree of Chesapeake, Va.; two sons David W. Cartwright and Jeffrey Alan Cartwright both of Virginia Beach, Va.; two brothers Arba Carver and Daniel ‘D.A.’ Carver both of Hertford NC; and three grandchildren Adam Ocheltree, Johnathan Ball and Jessica Ball. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon December 21, 2004 at 2:00 o’clock in Twiford’s Memorial Chapel 405 East Church St. Elizabeth City, NC by Rev. Frank Thigpen. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the lobby of the Funeral Home immediately following the service.
