Obituary of Harvey Becknell

Harvey Wesley Becknell, 60, of 107 W. Cypress Street, Elizabeth City died Friday evening, December 17, 2004, in the Albemarle Hospital. Mr. Becknell was born in Elizabeth City to Margaret Godfrey White of Elizabeth City and the late Claude Thomas Becknell. He was employed with the Daily Advance as a carrier and served in the US Navy. Besides his mother, Mr. Becknell is survived by a sister, JoAnn Becknell Tarkington of Elizabeth City; one niece, Billie Jo Hughes of Camden, NC and a nephew, Larry Paul White of Elizabeth City, NC. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, December 20, 2004, at 11:00am in the Twiford Memorial Chapel by Rev. F. Joe Griffith. Burial will be in the Cedarwood Cemetery, Hertford, NC. The family will be at the home of his sister, Jo Ann Tarkington, 803 Beech St., Elizabeth City, NC. Twiford Funeral Home, 405 E. Church St., Elizabeth City is assisting the Becknell family.
