Obituary of Marvin Mansfield

EC Mansfield Shawboro, NC Marvin Calvin Mansfield, age 80, of 680 Shawboro Road, Shawboro, NC, died Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at Norfolk Sentara Hospital. He was born in Currituck County, NC, husband of Elizabeth LaRay McLean Mansfield of the residence, and the son of the late Ernest Calvin and Martha Roberts Mansfield. He was a retired independent farmer and attended Riddle Pentecostal Holiness Church. Besides his wife, Mr. Mansfield is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Harges of Kilm, MS, and Dianne Riddick of Indianapolis, IN; a son, Lee Pipkin and wife Paulette of Shawboro, NC; three nieces, JoAnne Mansfield, Jane Fentress, and Joan Wood; a nephew, Raleigh P. Mansfield, Jr.; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Mansfield; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Mr. Mansfield was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Midgett and two brothers, Raleigh Mansfield, Sr. and Wilson Mansfield. A funeral service will be held Friday, December 24, 2004, 11:00 AM, at Riddle Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Roland Cooper officiating. Burial will be in the Roberts Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the church and Thursday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 at the funeral home and at other times at the residence of the son, Lee and Paulette Pipkin, 178 Maple Knoll Road, Shawboro, NC.
