Obituary of Elsie Parker

EC Parker Elsie Ballance Parker Resident of Powell’s Point, NC Mrs. Elsie Ballance Parker, age 80 of 417 North Spot Road, Powell’s Point, NC, died Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at the Albemarle Hospital. Mrs. Parker, a native of Portsmouth, VA, was the daughter of the late William Belton Ballance and Katherine Gruber Ballance and the widow of Robert Hilton Parker. She was a member of Powell’s Point Baptist Church and a homemaker. Mrs. Parker is survived by two daughters, Sharon P. Sargent, and husband Roger L. Sargent, and Gloria P. Maruskin, and husband John B. Maruskin, all of Spot, NC; a son, David R. Parker of Spot, NC; a brother, Buddy Ballance of Chesapeake, VA; three grandchildren, Jamie Sargent, Taylor Sargent, and Mason Parker all of Spot, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside memorial service will be Friday, December 31, 2004, at 11:00 AM at Powell’s Point Christian Church Cemetery with the Rev. Herbert Hemingway and the Rev. David Coxson. The family will receive friends at the residence of the daughter, Mr. & Mrs. Roger L. Sargent, 416 North Spot Road, Powell’s Point, NC.
