Obituary of Alfred “A. C.” Shannonhouse

Alfred Carver ‘A.C.’ Shannonhouse, 91, formerly of the 105 South Griffin St., Elizabeth City, NC died Sunday, December 28, 2003, in a Charlotte NC nursing home. He was born in Perquimans County, NC to the late James Watson and Ella Goodman Shannonhouse and was the widower of the late Hannah Stephens Shannonhouse. Mr. Shannonhouse was retired from the Elizabeth City U.S. Coast Guard Air Station as an electrician and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Mr. Shannonhouse is survived by a daughter, Gail S. Buckley and husband Dr. Thomas Buckley of Charlotte, NC; a son, James S. ‘Jim’ Shannonhouse and wife Sandra of Arlington, TX; seven grandchildren, Ed, Teresa, Kelly, Neil, Mike, Lori and Denisse; and nine great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at 1:00pm at West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Clyde Denny officiating. The family will receive friends at the Twiford Memorial Chapel, 405 E. Church St., Elizabeth City, NC Monday evening from 7:00 until 8:30.
