Obituary of Christiana Gallop

CHRISTIANA ‘CHRIS’ HARRIS GALLOP Native of Craven County, NC Christiana ‘Chris’ Harris Gallop, 81, of 158 Bean Landing Rd., Harbinger, NC died Sunday morning, January 2, 2005, in the Chesapeake General Hospital. She was born in Cove City, NC to the late John H. and Zula Daugherty Harris and was the wife of Julian C. Gallop for 58 years. Mrs. Gallop was a former cashier for Life and Casualty Insurance Company of Tennessee and a member of Temple Baptist Church of Raleigh, NC. Besides her husband, Mrs. Gallop is survived by a daughter, Kathy G. Coote and husband, Bob, of Manteo, NC; a son, Hiram C. Gallop and wife, Sonia C., of Harbinger, NC; a sister-in-law, Rosetta ‘Dede’ Harris of Independence, Ohio. Also, surviving are five grandchildren, Shannon Beamon of Greenville, NC, Kimberly Parks of Harbinger, NC, Kim Dunlap, Aviano, Italy, Karen Dunlap of Oviedo, FL and Ted Dunlap of Edgewater, MD; five great grandchildren, Kimani Partin, Amber Carawan, Benjamin Carroll, Elizabeth Carroll and Brittany Leigh Kellogg, three nieces, Dorothy Turnage, Johnette Lawrence, and Jean Snead. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 6, 2005, at 2:00pm in the Powells Point Christian Church by Pastor David Coxson and Rev. Everett Harper. Entombment will following in the Gallop Family Cemetery, Harbinger, NC. The family will be at their residence, 158 Bean Landing Rd., Harbinger, NC. Twiford Funeral Home, 405 E.
