Obituary of George Britt

EC Britt George Albert Britt South Hampton County, VA native Mr. George Albert Britt, age 70, of 123 Edgewater Drive, Grandy, NC, died Sunday, January 2, 2005 at the Albemarle Hospital. Mr. Britt, a native of South Hampton County, VA was the son of the late Charlie Albert Britt and Edith Catherine Raby Britt and the husband of Annie Ruth Britt of the residence. He was the retired manager of the Chesapeake Branch of Whitehurst Transport and Paving, a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of the American Legion Post #288, and member and deacon of Jarvisburg Church of Christ. Besides his wife Mr. Britt is survived by three daughters, Gale Anne Daddona of Lewes, DE, Bonnie Lou Manasco of Ringgold, VA, and Lillian Lee Crabtree of Oak Harber, WA; a sister, Jean Atkins of Wakefield, VA; two brothers, Charles Winston Britt of Wakefield, VA, and Johnny Raby Britt of Smithfield, VA; ten grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. A graveside funeral service will be Wednesday, January 5, 2005, at 2:30 PM at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Suffolk, VA, with the Rev. F. Joe Griffith officiating.
