Obituary of Buford Dendy

EC Dendy Buford William Dendy Resident of Coinjock, NC Mr. Buford William Dendy, age 60, of 298 Waterlily Road, Coinjock, NC, died Tuesday, January 4, 2004, at the Brian Center in Hertford, NC. Mr. Dendy was the son of the late Van Dendy and Eula Mae Dendy and the husband of Olivia Rodriguez Dendy of the residence. He was retired after twenty-two years in the US Navy as a Nuclear and Atomic Engineer and from the Norfolk Shipyard. Mr. Dendy was a member of Poplar Branch Baptist Church, the William Clarence Jackson VFW Post #6060 and the Foreign Legion. He was awarded twenty-four combat medals from the Vietnam War and the Cuban Crisis. Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Terry William Dendy of Tyner, NC, and Timothy Rex Dendy of Walnut Island, NC; and four grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 15, 2005 at 2:00 PM in Ballard Bridge Baptist Church, Tyner, NC. Information supplied by Twiford’s Memorial Chapel.
