Obituary of Willard C. “Ace” Holland
Willard Cletis ‘Ace’ Holland, 77, of 505 East Ridge Road, Shawboro, NC, died at his residence on Saturday, January 8, 2005 due to complication from Parkinson’s Disease. Mr. Holland was born October 19, 1927, in Franklin, NC, son of the late Radford and Sarah McCoy Holland, the ‘baby’ of fourteen children, all now deceased. He was a veteran of WWII, and the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. After retiring from the U.S. Navy as a Senior Chief Radioman, Ace was a car salesman for seventeen years at Phillips Lincoln-Mercury.
Ace is survived by wife Bonnie Boyd Holland, daughter Lorraine (Jerry) Easter, grandchildren J.W. (Carol) and Patty (Rickey) and former wife Patricia, all of Chesapeake, VA. Also many nieces, nephews and cousins in the Franklin, NC area.
A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Twiford’s Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Leigh Gillis, Rev. Charles Wellons and Rev. Johnny Ikner officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the William Clarence Jackson V.F.W. Post #6060. Following the service the family will receive friends in the lobby of the funeral home and at other times at the home.
