Archie Ray Curlings, Sr., age 65, of 684 Glade Road, Elizabeth City, NC, died Monday, January 10, 2005, in Albemarle Hospital. He was a native of Tyrrell County, NC, son of the late Tom Frank Curlings, and Bertie Estelle Sexton Curlings, and was husband of Faye Allen Curlings of the residence.
He was employed with the Perry Auto Group and was a member of the Fountain of Life Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mr. Curlings was one of the founding fathers of the Elizabeth City/Pasquotank/Camden Rescue Squad.
Besides his wife he is survived by three daughters, Robin Stork and her husband Chuck of Elizabeth City, NC, Cindy Harris and her husband Dana of Kitty Hawk, NC, and Wendy C. Sullivan and her husband Jesse of Elizabeth City, NC; one son, Archie Ray Curlings, Jr. and his fiance, Amy of Currituck, NC; three sisters, Juanita Curlings of Elizabeth City, NC, Patsy Gregory of Chesterfield, VA, and Naomi Hall of Camden, NC; four brothers, Jack Curlings of Windsor, NC, John Curlings of Gloucester, VA, Tommy Curlings of Hampton, VA; thirteen grandchildren. He was predeceased by one brother, Thomas G. Curlings, Sr.
A funeral service will be Thursday, January 13, 2005, at 2:00 PM in the Fountain of Life Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Bill Mayo officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. At other times the family will be at the residence of the Robin and Chuck Stork, 1200 Possum Quarter Road, Elizabeth City, NC.
