Obituary of Mandola H. Stanley
Mandola Hollingsworth Stanley, 71, of 1017 Cedar St., Elizabeth City died Monday, January 10, 2005, in the Winslow Memorial Home surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Raleigh, NC to the late Roger and Pearl Lucas Hollingworth and had lived in Elizabeth City for the past 50 years. Mrs. Stanley was a retired dental assistant for Dr. W. M. Spence.
She is survived by three daughters, Susie Watson of Gates, NC, Kathleen Goodson of Greenville, NC and Becky Bowen of Jarvisburg, NC; two sons, Gerald H. Stanley, Jr. and Roger Stanley both of Elizabeth City, NC; one sister, Jean Blake of Elizabeth City and one brother, Roger Hollingsworth of Greenville, NC; 10 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Dail McDougall and a brother, Charles Hollingsworth.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 14, 2005, at 2:00pm in the Twiford’s Memorial Chapel by Rev. F. Joe Griffith. She will be laid to rest at New Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at Twiford Funeral Home, Thursday evening from 7:00 until 8:00pm and at other times at their residence, 1017 Cedar St., Elizabeth City, NC. Memorial donations may be made to the Albemarle Hospice, PO Box 189, Elizabeth City, NC, 27907-0189 to help with patients in the Albemarle Area. Our deepest appreciation to all of the caregivers of Winslow Memorial Home and the people of Hospice who took care of our Mother and family members during this most difficult time.
