Obituary of Margaret Sitz

AVON, NC MARGARET McCULLOUGH SITZ, 93, of Avon, NC died Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at her residence. Mrs. Sitz, born in Newville, PA, was a retired Registered Nurse and a homemaker. She was a member of Cradock Presbyterian Church in Portsmouth, VA, and was a veteran, having served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. She was the daughter of the late John Bruce and Lucy Orr McCullough and the widow of the late J. Harry Sitz, Sr. Mrs. Sitz is survived by two daughters, Lucy S. Aginiga of Chula Vista, CA and Margaret S. Richardson of Avon, NC; two sons, John H. Sitz, Jr. of Avon, NC and Dr. Thomas O. Sitz and wife, Bonnie of Blacksburg, VA; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Sitz of Avon, NC, eight grandchildren, Molly S. Moore, Margaret M. Hernandez, Pauline R. Howerton, Mandy C. Sitz, Robert F. Richardson, Jr., John S. Richardson, Sally M. Sitz, and Nathan Aginiga; eight great-grandchildren, Rachel L. Moore, Sarah B. Moore, Nydia E. Hernandez, Margaret M. Howerton, Caroline F. Howerton, Julia M. Hernandez, Kevin B. Howerton, Jr., and William R. Howerton; and two godchildren, Warren C. Blow and Molly K. Sheally. A Service of Remembrance will be held at Our Lady of the Sea Catholic Church, Buxton, NC, on Thursday, January 13, 2005 at 10:30 am, with Father Andre Izac officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hatteras Island Cancer Foundation, POB 442, Hatteras, NC 27943. Twiford’s Island Chapel, Hatteras is assisting the family with arrangements.
