Obituary of Cecil Elliott

EC ELLIOTT Chapanoke, NC Cecil Ira Elliott, age 60, of 216 Hurdletown Road, Hertford, NC lost his battle with cancer on January 19, 2005, at his residence. Mr. Elliott was a native of Perquimans County, born in Chapanoke and was a self-employed logger. He was the ninth son of the late William Henry and Lucy Wood Elliott. He was born February 27, 1944 and the twelfth of thirteen children. He is survived by two daughters, Katherine Jean Elliott of Elizabeth City and Crystal Diane Elliott of Hertford; one son, Cecil Elvis Elliott and wife, Katie of Elizabeth City; five grandchildren, Destiny, Jasmine, Madison Ashley, and Keith; three sisters, Pat Elliott, Laura E. Dixon, and Margie E. Williamson of Chapanoke; five brothers, John Norwood Elliott of Sun City West, AZ; Carlton ‘Cotton’ Eugene Elliott, Charles Lawrence Elliott of Elizabeth City, James Robert ‘Bobby’ Elliott of Plymouth, NC, and Milton Lloyd Elliott of Roper, NC. He was predeceased by three brothers, Ray Wood Elliott; William Henry ‘Billy’ Elliott, and Leon Parrish Elliott; one sister, Hazel Elliott Powell; and an adopted brother, William Francis Elliott, Sr. The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 21, 2005, at 4:00 PM in Twiford’s Memorial Chapel, 405 E. Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC with C.D. White officiating and words from family representative John N. Elliott. A private burial will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the lobby of the funeral home.
