Obituary of Lillian Davis

Lillian Mae Sawyer Davis, 77, 400 West Fearing Street, Elizabeth City, NC, died Saturday, February 5, 2005 at Albemarle Hospital. She was born in South Mills, NC; wife of Clarence H. Davis of the residence, and the daughter of the late Walter and Dessie Overton Sawyer. Besides her husband, Mrs. Davis is survived by three daughters, Kathy Spencer Appleby and husband Lee of League City, TX, Nancy Davis Pritchard, and Kassi Mae Evans both of Elizabeth City, NC; two sons, Randy Eugene Spencer and Timothy Goodwin and wife Cathy both of Elizabeth City, NC; three sisters, Leoralean Brickhouse of Columbia, NC, Audrey Hebert Chesapeake, VA, and Margie McPherson of Virginia Beach, VA; six brothers, William L. Sawyer of Elizabeth City, NC, Bob Sawyer Smith Station, AL, James L. Sawyer, Sr. of Elizabeth City, NC, Gilbert E. Sawyer of Gregory, NC, Everette E. Sawyer of South Mills, NC, and Darrell C. Sawyer of Chesapeake, VA; a daughter-in-law, Gay Spencer of Elizabeth City, NC; seventeen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by a son, William Kenny Spencer, Jr.. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at 11:00 in Twiford’s Memorial Chapel with the Rev. F. Joe Griffith officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Crippled Children 2100 North Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville, SC 29509-3194.
