Obituary of Phyllis Burnett

PHYLLIS ETHERIDGE BURNETT, 79 of Norfolk, Va. died Sunday, February 6, 2005 in the Presbyterian Hospital in Huntersville, NC. She was a native of Norfolk, Va., daughter of the late Benjamin F. and Mrs. Matilda Midgett Etheridge and the widow of Andy Burnett. She was a member of the St. Lawrence Episcopal Church in Norfolk, a homemaker and a beautician. She is survived by three daughters, Marion Gutman and husband, Lee of Elizabeth City; Amy King and husband, Charles; and Jenny Burnett, all of Charlotte, NC.; one sister, Jean Martin of Elizabeth City, NC; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church in Elizabeth City by Reverend Fredricka Steenstra. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Norfolk, VA at 2:30 p.m. Twiford’s Memorial Chapel 405 E. Church Street, Elizabeth City is in charge of arrangements.
