Obituary of David Graham

Chesapeake ‘ David Polk Graham Jr., 77, died February 5, 2005. Mr. Graham was born in Sanford, NC to the late David Graham Sr. and Zedar Arnette Medlin. He was a veteran having served in the US Army during WWII, a life member of the VFW and an avid gardener, having won several local and State Fair Blue Ribbons for his watermelons and pumpkins. Mr. Graham was predeceased by his son, David G. Graham; a grandson, Brian Graham; and four brothers, Gurney, Robert, Ralph, and Lester Graham. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Joyce Ellen Graham; three daughters, Sarah Ann Hawkins of Norfolk, Janea Hamilton of Norfolk, and Joan Marable of Chesapeake; one son, Johnny Ghi, of Moyock; one sister, Kathleen Wall of Franklin, Va; two brothers, Calvin Graham of Sanford and Braxton Graham of Va. Beach; eight grandchildren, David, Wesley, and Michael Graham, David and Jason Ghi, TJ and Katie Hamilton, and Julia Marable; and ten great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Twiford’s Colonial Chapel, Chesapeake on Wednesday at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 7:00 until 8:30 pm.
