Obituary of Joyce Hopkins

S HOPKINS Elizabeth City, NC Joyce Casey Hopkins, 57, of 2406 Dan and Mary Street, Elizabeth City, NC, died Friday, February 11, 2005 at her residence. She was born in Norfolk, VA, daughter of the late Arthur Allen Casey and Nannie McDaniel Casey, and was the wife of Thyron ‘Ron’ Blair Hopkins of the residence. She was a homemaker, a bookkeeper for the Chowan Emergency Medical Service, and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Besides her husband, Mrs. Hopkins is survived by: three daughters, April H. Evans and husband David, of Elizabeth City, NC, Amy L. Hague of Chesapeake, VA, and Dorinda H. Franklin and husband Jeff of Chesapeake, VA; one son, Richard B. Hopkins and wife Kris, of Phoenix, Arizona; four sisters, Peggy C. Smith of Chesapeake, VA, Diane C. Sahr of Virginia Beach, VA, Mary C. O’Neal of Elizabeth City, NC, and Janet C. Asay of Hollywood, Florida; and eight grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, February 15, at 1:00 PM at Emmanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Kevin Senn officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held at Twiford’s Northside Chapel on Monday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 PM, and other times at the residence.
