Obituary of Shirley Turpin

Kill Devil Hills Shirley C. Turpin, 79, died Thursday, February 17, 2005 at a Norfolk medical facility. Mrs. Turpin was born in Virginia Beach, VA and was a homemaker. She was a former member of Order of the Eastern Star in Alaska and was a Baptist. Mrs. Turpin was the daughter of the late Charlie Sherman and Evelyn Dough Culpepper and the wife of Wilbur M. Turpin of the home. Besides her husband, Mrs. Turpin is survived by one daughter, Fay Beasley of Colington; three sons, Maynard Daniels, III of Kill Devil Hills, Jack C. Rohan and Frank Rohan, both of Fort Pierce, FL.; two sisters, Patricia Jennette of Kitty Hawk and Fay Culpepper of Chapel Hill; one brother, Charlie Sherman Culpepper, Jr. of Virginia Beach and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a baby brother. There are no services planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 930 B Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC 27834. Twiford’s Colony Chapel, Manteo, is assisting the family with these arrangments.
