Obituary of Thomas E. Gibson, Sr.

OCRACOKE, NC THOMAS EARL GIBSON, Sr., of Ocracoke, NC died Friday, February 18, 2005 at his residence. Mr. Gibson, born in Roxboro, NC, retired form Western Electric as a painter and inspector and locally, served on the Ocracoke Volunteer Fire Dept. & Rescue Squad. He was the son of the late Clyde Franklin and Erna Townsend Gibson and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Sue Gibson Trevathan. Mr. Gibson is survived by his wife, Patricia Thacker Gibson of the residence; three sons, Thomas Earl Gibson, Jr. of Charlotte, NC, Ricky Dale Gibson of Greensboro, NC and Tyrus Franklin Gibson of Efland, NC; one sister, Marjorie Snead of Danville, VA; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held at Ocracoke United Methodist Church on Saturday, February 26, 2005 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Joyce Reynolds and T.C. Carter officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence. Twiford’s Island Chapel, Hatteras is assisting the family with arrangements.
