Obituary of Major I. Ferrell

Major Irvin Ferrell, Sr., 77, of 1808 N. Road Street, Elizabeth City, NC died Sunday, February 20, 2005 in the Albemarle Hospital. He was born in Pasquotank County, NC to the late Caleb Dallas ‘Keppy’ Ferrell and Daisy Weston Ferrell and was the widower of the late Edna Stafford Ferrell. Mr. Ferrell was a member of the Berea Baptist Church and was a retired engineer with 35 years of service with the Norfolk Southern Railroad. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He is survived by two sons, M. I. Ferrell, Jr. and wife, Delores, and J. C. Ferrell and wife, Marion, all of Elizabeth City, NC, two sisters, Helen McHorney of Camden, NC and Juanita Ralph of Elizabeth City, NC; one brother, Caleb Dallas Ferrell, Jr. of Elizabeth City, NC; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, February 23, 2005, at 1:00pm in the West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery by Rev. Glenn Greenway. Twiford Funeral Home, 405 E.
