Obituary of Thomas Curlings

Thomas Gatous Curlings, Jr., 49, of 125 Ferry Road, Elizabeth City, NC, died Thursday, March 3, 2005 at Albemarle Hospital. He was born in Pasquotank County, NC; husband of Donna Sadler Curlings of the home, and the son of the late Thomas G. Curlings, Sr. and Grace White Saunders. He was a member of Fountain of Life Pentecostal Holiness Church and the Pasquotank Ruritan Club. Besides his wife, Mr. Curlings is survived by a mother, Merle Curlings of Elizabeth City, NC; three daughters, Pamela Sluka and husband Sam of Norfolk, VA, Patricia Forbes and husband Mike of Weeksville, NC, and Audrey Wheeler and husband Ben of Conway, NC; two sons, David Curlings and fianc Stephanie of Conway, NC, and Robert Curlings and wife Leslie of Camden, NC; a sister, Lawanda Williams and husband Steve of Asheboro, NC; four brothers, Roger Sawyer and wife Debbie of Elizabeth City, NC, Seldon Sawyer and wife Mindy of Elizabeth City, NC, Thomas Glenn Curlings and wife Eva of Fort Walton Beach, FL; and Wilson Sawyer and wife Maggie of Henderson, NC; a very special sister-in-law, Virginia Wine of Elizabeth City, NC; six grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Mr. Curlings was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Heather Mae Sluka and a sister, Audrey Rae Curlings. A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 6, 2005 at 2:00 pm in Fountain of Life Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. M.L. Bloodworth officiating. Following the service the family will receive friends at the church and at other times at the residence.
