Obituary of Bedie Twiddy

ELIZABETH CITY, NC TWIDDY Bedie Mae Sawyer Twiddy, 93, a former resident of Lassiter Street, Elizabeth City, NC died Saturday March 5, 2005, at Winslow Nursing Home. Mrs. Twiddy was the daughter of the late John and Annie Barnes Sawyer. She was a member of the Elizabeth City Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons; Roy Rufus Twiddy and his wife Darlene of Elizabeth City, NC and John William Twiddy and his wife Linda of Hertford, NC, one sister Ida S. White of Chesapeake, VA., eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four sons; James McCoy Ivey, Robert Ivey, Elmer Ivey and Alton Thomas Twiddy, one daughter Kathleen I. Ritcher, and one sister Annie S. Hassell. A funeral graveside service will be held Monday March 7, 2005, at 2:00 P. M. at the Old Hollywood Cemetery with Dr. Ira ‘Sonny’ Furrow officiating. The family will join friends Sunday afternoon March 6, 2005, from 4:00 P. M. to 5:00 P. M. at Twiford Funeral Home, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC.
