Obituary of Lelia Evans

Lelia O. Evans Canisteo, NY ‘ Lelia Ordway Evans, 88, died March 5, 2005. Mrs. Evans was born in Canisteo to the late Twyla Bourne and Bert Ordway. She attended the Canisteo Academy and atteneded and graduated from Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing, where she went on to work there another 20 years. Mrs. Evans was a member of the First Baptist Church of Canisteo and a veteran having served in the U.S. Army during WWII. She was predeceased by her husband, Floyd W. Evans. Survivors include one niece, Connie Lee Hopson of Knotts Island, NC and one nephew, Daniel Lee Croway of Ithaca, NY. A private interment was held in Woodlawn Cemetery in Canisteo.
