Obituary of Vernon Varner Smith

SMITH COINJOCK, NC VERNON VARNER SMITH, 82, of Coinjock, died, Sunday, March 13, 2005, in her residence. Mrs. Smith was born in Soddy-Daisy, TN and was a homemaker. She attended Mount Zion United Methodist Church. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Beulah Varner and the wife of the late Wallace A. Smith, Sr. Surviving are four sons: Wallace A. Smith, Jr of Coinjock; David L. Smith of Pesotum, IL; Virgil W. Smith of Duck, NC and John C. Smith of Suffolk, VA; one brother: Wallace Varner of Soddy-Daisy, Tn; Grandchildren: Christopher Smith, Keith Smith, Jessica Smith, April Goff, Cariann Smith, David Smith, Todd Beach, Lisa Smith, Cynthia Delvecchio, Ashley Smith, Rebecca Smith and Emily Smith. Great-grandchildren: Ryley Smith, Deaana Smith, Kaelyn Smith and Jordan Smith. Niece: Sheilah Anderson and care taker: Marian Anderson. Irene will be missed by her many friends at Gem Day Care in Kill Devil Hills. A celebration of life will be held, Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. in Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Grandy. Burial will be in Laurel Memorial Gardens.
