Obituary of James Skittlethorp

Elizabeth City, NC James Arthur Skittlethorp, 62, of 200 South Street, Elizabeth City, NC, died at Albemarle Hospital on Saturday, April 9, 2005. Born in Norfolk, VA, he was the son of the late James David Skittlethorp and Jane Howard of Washington, NC, and was the husband of Margaret Ann Moser Skittlethorp of the residence. He was a veteran of the US Army and an auto mechanic. Besides his wife and mother, Mr. Skittlethorp is survived by three daughters, Lora Faye Skittlethorp of Norfolk, VA, Sharon Marie Darnell of New Hope, NC, and Jenna Lea Skittlethorp of Gloucester, VA; two sons, Tony Ray Skittlethorp of Winfall, NC, and Paul Samuel Skittlethorp of Elizabeth City, NC; three sisters: Jane Faye Spottedbird of Albuquerque, NM, Nancy Guillette and Maryanne Moore, both of Bath, NC; two brothers, David Skittlethorp of Port Saint Lucy, FL, and Daniel Skittlethorp of Chesapeake, VA; two grandchildren, Kaleb Abrahm Darnell and Jacob Silas Darnell. The family will receive friends at Twiford Memorial Chapel, 405 E. Church Street, Elizabeth City from 6:30 to 8:30 Thursday, April 14, 2005. A memorial service will be Saturday, April 16, 2005, at 4:00 PM in New Hope United Methodist Church with Rev. Alan Gibson officiating.
