Obituary of Betty Carter

EC CARTER Betty Parker Carter, 66, of 974 Wellfield Road, Elizabeth City, NC, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at her residence. She was a native of Weeksville, NC, and was the daughter of Roscoe Henry Parker, Sr. and Nellie Davis Parker. She was a graduate of Weeksville High School Class of 1957, a member of Corinth Baptist Church and a member of Dorcas Sunday School Class. She is survived by her husband, Robert B. Carter, three daughters Sharon C. Thornton and her husband Oliver of Elizabeth City, NC, Nancy C. Foster and her husband John of Amelia, VA, and June C. Lembo and her husband John of Port Orchard, WA; two sisters, Billie Ann Long and Kathryn James both of Elizabeth City, NC; five brothers, Caleb Parker, Ernest Parker, and Richard Parker all of Elizabeth City, NC, Forrest Parker of FL, and Henry Parker of Newbern, NC; seven grandchildren, Maria, Jennifer, Joy, and Calen Foster, Darla Gibbs, Jesse McLawhorn, and Carter Lembo; three great grandchildren, Christopher, Tyler, and Halie. She was predeceased by two sisters, Villie P. Payne and Janice Bennett, two brothers, Walter and Carroll Parker. A funeral service will be Friday, April 15, 2005, at 11:00 AM in Twiford’s Memorial Chapel with the Rev. David Turner officiating. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM in Twiford’s Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC.
