Obituary of Annette Copley

EC COPLEY Elizabeth City, NC Annette Julia Rogers Copley Annette Julia Rogers Copley, age 84, of Crescent Drive, Elizabeth City, NC, died Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at her residence. She was a native of Suffolk, VA, daughter of the late Cecil Benton Rogers and Edith Warren Rogers, and was wife of the late John B. Copley. She was a retired schoolteacher for Gates County and Pasquotank County Public School system. Annette and John organized a summer trip to Washington DC for many years taking local school students. After her husband John passed on, May 23, 2003, Annette developed a loving relationship with her cat ‘Rufus.’ She is survived by one daughter, Janne Copley Mills and her husband, Joseph Scott Mills of Elizabeth City, NC; one son, David Kenneth Copley and his wife, Linda Bernice Copley of Elizabeth City, NC; two grandchildren, and one great grandchild. A funeral service will be Saturday, April 16, 2005, at 1:00 PM in Christ Episcopal Church, Elizabeth City, NC, with the Rev. Jim McGee officiating. The family will be at her daughter’s and son in laws residence, 202 Planter’s Run, Elizabeth City, NC, on Friday 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
