Obituary of Elizabeth Pearce

Manteo, NC Elizabeth O’Neal Pearce, 80, of 107 Devon Street, Manteo, NC, died Saturday, April 16, 2005 at Britthaven of Outer Banks. Born in Manteo, NC, she was the daughter of the late John Dameron and Mildred Etheridge O’Neal and was the widow of George James Pearce. She was a homemaker, a member of First United Methodist Church in Elizabeth City, a former member of Mount Olivet United Methodist Church, a former member of the Order of Eastern Star, and a volunteer at Manteo Elementary School for many years. Mrs. Pearce is survived by a daughter, Martha Pearce Cain and husband George of Kill Devil Hills, NC; two sons, George John Pearce and wife Linda and Bill Pearce and wife Caroline all of Manteo, NC; a sister-in-law, Ila O’Neal of Manteo, NC; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at 2:00 PM at Twiford’s Colony Chapel by the Rev. Susie Fitch-Slater. Burial will follow at Manteo Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home on Monday from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. The family would like to express their great appreciation to the staff of Britthaven of Outer Banks for the care they provided to Mrs. Pearce.
