Obituary of Mary Pledger

EC Pledger Mary Juanita Pledger Native of Pasquotank County, NC Mrs. Mary Juanita Armstrong Pledger, age 68, of the 1100 block of Horse- shoe Road, Elizabeth City, NC, died Sunday, April 17, 2005, at the Albemarle Hospital. Mrs. Pledger, a native of Pasquotank County, was the daughter of the late James Kelly Armstrong and Annie Mae Furlough Armstrong. She was a Baptist and a homemaker. Mrs. Pledger is survived by five daughters, Debbie Parker and Sharon Watts both of Elizabeth City, NC, Brenda Betts of Camden, NC, Sandy Whiteford of Concord, NC, and Kathy Schurter of West Palm Beach, FL; a son, Kenny Jones of Hollywood, FL; a sister, Jennette Upton of Chesapeake, VA; ten grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. A graveside funeral will be Thursday, April 21, 2005, at 2:00 PM with the Rev. F. Joe Griffith officiating in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at the funeral home and at other times at the residence of the daughter, Brenda Betts, 288 North Highway 34, Camden, NC. Twiford’s Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is in charge of arrangements.
