Obituary of Elizabeth Hays

Manteo, NC Elizabeth Heil Hays, 51, of 167 Langley Lane, Manteo, NC, died Friday, April 29, 2005 at Duke University Hospital. Born in Mt. Carmel, PA, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Magdeline Galinis Heil. She was a math teacher at Columbia Middle School, a graduate of Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania, and was a member of St. Andrews By-the-Sea Episcopal Church. Mrs. Hays is survived by her husband, Michael D. Hays of the residence; a step daughter, Michelle Bonham of Clarksville, TN; a step son, Jeffrey Hays of Clarksville, TN; two step granddaughters, Marie and Kellie Bonham of Clarksville, TN; a sister, Lynn Gill of San Jose, CA; a brother, Benjamin Heil of San Mateo, CA; and a nephew, David Heil of Wildwood, MO. A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at 11:00 AM at St. Andrews By-the-Sea Episcopal Church by the Rev. Charles Gill. Burial will follow at Roanoke Island Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends and relatives at Twiford’s Colony Chapel, Manteo on Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
